Met deze stelling en wat brainstorming is wat aan te vangen, ondekte Jos
Peperkamp.
Jos stuurde de 8 BuurBrassbands een engelse mail, welke we jullie niet willen
onthouden.

Even as a Limburg
citizen and German speaking, I will make this mail in English to get feedback
from everybody !
Beside that…….. BrassBands are in a way Brittish so…. :-)
Dear Brassband lovers
and responsible persons of the BrassBands:
Brass Band Limburg,
Brass Band Merum,
Brass Band Smeermaas “De Grensbewoners”
Noord Limburgse Brass Band,
Cologne Concert Brass,
Brass Band Düren,
Brass Band St. Rochus Pey,
Brass Band St. Gerlach Houthem.
Within the radius of
100 km around Sittard-Geleen we find 8 Brass bands who in a way are stand-alone
bands in a region with a lot of Harmonie, Fanfare and wind orchestra.
As lover of BrassBand and having relations with in at least 4 Bands personally
as player or friend I often spoke about working closer together.
I personally would like you all to think about helping each other in this small
Brass Band region.
Combining the list of sheet music could be a start so we all can save money by
loaning music from each other.
Beside that we could think about giving concerts together and in that way
learning from each other specially since we operate in 3 different countries !
Also getting better known to each other would be good if some of the bands
should be in the need of a musician. It is always better to have a spare player
who comes out of the BrassBand scene than a player
from the known wind orchestra’s.
It is of course not
the idea to make the relations so tight that we have to meet every year. It
would just be better to keep every body informed about BrassBand.
The Brassband scene in
our region is small but looking just across the borders we seen that we easily
find 8 BrassBands who can co-operate if the will is there.
Think about the mail
all. I’m just starting this idea. You can contact each other directly since your
mail will see all the other e-mail addresses from the different bands.
